The Role

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer who will form an integral part of our data and analytics team, focusing primarily on data visualisation. You will be expected to work on a variety of projects across multiple clients as part of our team. You should have a real eye for data visualisation and be looking to develop quickly in this space, working with a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) tools to grow their experience and portfolio.

The role will be reporting into our Data Visualisation Lead and will be working alongside Analytical and Technical teams to deliver collaborative, high-quality solutions.

There is an exciting development path for this role, with exposure to all levels of our organisation and opportunities to experience all elements of the project lifecycle, from inception through to delivery.

Key Outputs

  • Use Cases and Functionality Specifications - partnering with clients to understand user needs
  • Wireframes - production of relevant, detailed wireframes to support visualisation design and stakeholder engagement
  • App development - working to designs and specifications to deliver well-structured reporting solutions
  • Data analysis - assessing new datasets for potential exploitation opportunities
  • Documentation - to hand over designs and solutions to the client (both business and technical)
  • Presentation - presenting a range of outputs to clients for feedback and approval

Skills and experience required to fulfil the role


  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Experienced in the end-to-end development of non-Excel reporting solutions including elements of data preparation
  • Experienced in collaborative working with business users
  • Experienced in working with large complex data
  • Presentation of complex information to stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of data protection obligations

Technical Skills:

  • Tableau, Power BI or QlikView/Sense Development
  • SQL coding experience
  • Good Excel skills
  • Experience using large data platforms such as Teradata, Netezza or similar (desirable)
